One of those companies that we can recommend heartily is Velda’s Grower Direct. Velda has recently been awarded the level of “Master Florist” with FTD the largest wire service in the world. Out of 45 potential florists in Calgary they are now in the top 5!
If you are looking to order flowers in Calgary we have seen her work and sent it to clients and friends who have been very excited to receive it. Velda is tremendously creative and her staff are friendly and efficient. They put together beautiful and affordable bouquets and get them out to where they need to be immediately. Our Strategy With Velda’s Grower Direct
We know Velda personally as we attend a PGIB luncheon with her every Wednesday. We were pleased to do some emailing for her over the last few months and have been able to increase her business significantly as a result.
Velda was already using our favorite email company (Constant Contact) so we did not have to set that up for her. However, consistency was challenging because Velda is awesome at making creative center pieces and decorative arrangements so that means she is too busy for keeping up on the writing.
The first step was to analyze where they were at in their marketing program.
Secondly we used innovative email marketing. We decided to start by emailing some specially crafted messages that showed pictures of floral arrangements and staff and we added some wonderful articles on how to keep the flowers looking good longer, home decorating with flowers, and other insightful tips that people wanted. That got people opening and re-opening her emails. We put the share buttons on them and we assisted in the process by sharing her splashy messages on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.
The most telling results though were in an annual event that she has done for years. We saw her sales go up 35% over previous events and she sold out in the morning. There were over 9000 orders that day!
That was very exciting!
We have big plans for helping Velda go even further now. She is having her team come out for our event on September 29th to learn how to use LinkedIn more effectively and we are going to get some more things happening with her Facebook and Twitter account as well.
We will keep you posted as the larger strategies unfold. We know that Christmas is going to be especially good for her!
