Boring is your enemy in email communications. The same look. The same logo up top and center. Great for branding, not great for getting opened. Do something different. Do something colorful. Be creative and get people thinking.
Depending on your company and your target audience you may be able to mix it up a bit. You may want to remain very professional and predictable for reaching new leads, however your executive team may like a little more fun once in a while. Your ongoing members may really like something unusual. Do they know you? Do they love you? They will keep loving you if you keep it interesting.
Also put the social media share buttons on your emails. If it impacts somebody they will post it on their Facebook where they may have 4000 friends and someone else will put it on LinkedIn where they have 500+ connections. It can be Tweeted and Re-Tweeted. Put your website on your email and give it some more Link Juice by having your emails posted and re-posted on social media channels. Drink the rewards of extended impact and reach!
